Social Media Content Manager, TRANSPORT FOR LONDON (TFL)
ABOUT THE ROLE
Transport for London is hiring a Social Media Content Manager to join its Digital Communications team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a strategic and hands-on role leading the planning, creation and delivery of high-quality organic content across TfL’s social media channels and blogs. You will shape what gets published, when it goes live, and how it supports wider communication and customer engagement goals. You’ll oversee content from concept through to publication, manage daily community conversations, and ensure TfL’s digital voice remains clear, trusted and consistent across London and beyond.
What You’ll Do
Plan, create and publish organic social media content aligned to TfL’s wider strategy
Lead day-to-day community management across channels, responding to comments and driving engagement
Identify and curate user-generated content to strengthen brand storytelling
Oversee campaign delivery, recommending strategic approaches that meet business objectives
Advise internal teams on tone of voice, format and platform best practice
Manage daily sign-off and approvals for social content
Act as the in-house social media expert, helping raise digital capability across the organisation
Monitor social media trends, tools and platform updates to keep content fresh and effective
Build relationships across departments to source compelling, accurate content
Ensure all content aligns with TfL brand guidelines, editorial standards and accessibility requirements
Evaluate campaign performance and provide clear reporting and insights

Knowledge of SEO, reporting tools and performance measurement
Awareness of accessibility standards such as WCAG
Experience working in politically sensitive or highly regulated environments
