Junior Designer, MOTEL ROCKS

About the Role

Motel is hiring a Junior Designer to join its Womenswear Design team in London.

This role supports the full design process from trend research and mood boarding through to product development and print creation. You’ll work closely with the Senior Designer, contributing fresh, commercially relevant ideas while supporting the day-to-day operations of the design team. This is an ideal role for someone early in their design career who understands youth culture, social trends and fast-moving fashion.

What You’ll Do

  • Research trends across social platforms, runway and vintage markets to inform collections

  • Create mood boards aligned to brand direction and seasonal concepts

  • Track competitors and compile weekly reports on trends and market insights

  • Support design development by creating sketches and CADs using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Assist with print and graphic briefs following direction from Senior Designers

  • Contribute to updates on best-selling styles based on sales data and trend analysis

  • Manage and track samples, fabrics and design materials

  • Support sourcing of fabrics, trims and references

  • Assist with general team admin including meeting prep and note-taking

  • Maintain organisation of the design workspace and materials

Who This Is For

  • Graduates in Fashion Design or a related field

  • Designers with strong knowledge of youth culture, social trends and emerging fashion movements

  • Individuals confident using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and CAD tools

  • Highly organised creatives who can manage multiple deadlines

  • Candidates with a strong understanding of Motel’s brand and customer

  • Team players with a proactive, flexible approach

Bonus If You Have

  • Experience working within a fashion brand or design studio

  • Experience with sustainability-led design or conscious production practices

  • Strong understanding of commercial fashion and trend translation
